NYSERDA and Partners Launch Center to Help
Improve Energy Efficiency, Reduce Harmful Emissions, Cut Costs in Manufacturing Processes

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY-ESF) and RadTech International today announced the establishment of a new research, development and industrial testing center to help make manufacturing processes in New York State more energy efficient, environmentally friendly and economical.

MAS Associates is one of the industrial partners involved in this effort.

A New Opportunity for Indian Lake

The town of Indian Lake stands on the verge of being introduced to a local business that promises new jobs, based on an entirely new economic opportunity for the area. MAS Composites, founded by long-time resident Mark Sherwin, will soon move into the Route 30 Adirondack One Stop property. The firm has applied composite technology, originally developed for the military, to a commercial marine product, while providing the region with manufacturing and engineering employment opportunities.

Nanotechnology is coming to Indian Lake

A little taste of nanotech (nanotechnology) will be taking shape in Indian Lake, thanks to a business loan the Indian Lake Town Board approved Monday, Jan. 14. The Board authorized a five-year, $120,000 loan at 1 percent below prime to MAS Composites, owned by the local husband and wife team of Mark Sherwin, president, and Ann Carroll, vice president. The town Financial Committee recommended the loan.
